Obituary
Joseph M. Kanaly, 83, died at the Plummer Memorial hospital Saturday morning, July 27 following a a brief illness. He was born in Baldwinsville, Mass., May, 1863, the son of Thomas and Hannorah (Coughlin) Kanaly. Mr. Kanaly has made his home in Dexter approximately 55 years. About 15 years ago he retired as overseer in the finishing department at Abbott's mill, having also, in the past, been an employee at the Dumbarton woolen mill. He is survived by a daughter, Miss Cassie Kanaly, a nephew, Tom Kanaly of Melrose, Mass., and a sister-in-law, Miss Hannah Dougherty of Dexter. A requiem high mass was held at St. Ann's Catholic church, Monday morning, July 29 at 6:30 o'clock. The bearers were: Andrew Flynn, Theodore Mountain, Frank Cloutier, Allard Packard, George Vigue and Robert Cinq-Mars. Interment was in St. John's cemetery, Gardner, Mass.
