CLAIRE (RUSSELL) KEYTE DEXTER - Claire (Russell) Keyte, 88, died January 17, 1991 at her son's Ripley residence after a long illness. She was born January 2, 1902 at Howebrook, the daughter of James and Harriet (Watts) Russell. She graduated from Bangor General Hospital School of Nursing, practiced in the Boston Lying Inn, and moved to Dexter as the town's first public health nurse. She retired from Fay & Scott Machine Shop as the infirmary nurse and also from Plummer Memorial Hospital. She was a communicant of St. Anne's Sodality and the Daughters of Isabella, and was a charter member of the Nurse's Guild. She was predeceased by her husband, Fredrick, who died November 1, 1990. She is survived by four sons, William, David and Peter, all of Dexter, and John of Ripley; one daughter, Margaret Sevey of Ripley; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Friends called on January 18 at Crosby and Neal Funeral Home, 238 Main St., Dexter, where prayers were said. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on January 19 at St. Anne's Church, Dexter, with the Rev. Marcel Robitaille officiating. Spring interment will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
