Obituary	IMOGEN ABBOTT MENDOZA DEXTER - Imogen (Abbott) Mendoza, 94, died January 19, 1989, at her Acadia Street residence. She was born November 24, 1894, at Dexter, the daughter of George W. and Ella (Folsom) Abbott. She graduated from Dexter High School, Class of 1917. In 1925, she married Juan Mendoza of Peru. She lived for many years in Europe, South America and Washington, D.C. with her husband, returning to Dexter upon his retirement from the Peruvian Diplomatic Service. She served for many years on the Board of Directors of Amos Abbott Co. Mrs. Mendoza also served for many years as a trustee to both the Abbott Memorial Library and the Dexter Universalist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Frederica Stevens of San Rafael, Calif. and Carmen Rosita West of Albany, Ga., four grandchildren, John and Sarah Stevens and Philip and Keith West; one niece, Imogen Abbott Tillson. There will be no visiting hours or funeral services. Private interment will be in the family lot, Mount Pleasant Cemetery, in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Dexter Universalist Church Organ Fund or to the Bangor Humane Society. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Dexter.
