Obituary	RUTH F. STANCHFIELD DEXTER - Ruth (Forbus) Stanchfield, 77, died December 5, 1988, at a Dexter nursing home. She was born March 27, 1909, at Abbot, the daughter of Lamont and Flora (Curtis) Forbus. She graduated from Monson Academy, Class of 1927. On September 17, 1927, she married Milton Stanchfield. She then attended Farmington Normal School and taught for several years in Monson area schools. She later worked as a clerk in several Greenville and Monson area stores. Besides her husband of Dexter, she is survived by two sons, Lamont of Pittsfield and Wesley of Litchfield; two daughters, Doris Clukey of Ripley and Jewel Bjork of Guilford; two sisters, Eva Everett and Bernice Melrum both of Florida; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Friends called at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Dexter. Funeral services were held at Monson Community Church, with the Rev. Daryl Witmer, officiating. Interment was in the Hillside Cemetery, Monson. Donations may be made to the Residents Activity Fund, care of Dexter Nursing Home, 64 Park St., Dexter, 04930.
