Obituary
RALPH C. HILL CORINNA and DEXTER - Ralph Clark Hill, 70, died September 10, 1988, at a Bangor Hospital, after a long illness. He was born December 2, 1917, at Eastport, the son of Charles and Laura (Clark) Hill. He graduated from Eastport High School Class of 1937, and the Ridge Technical School, Class of 1939. He was employed at Eastland Woolen Mill, Corinna, for 40 years, retiring in 1982 as a supervisor. He was a member of the Corinna Boy Scout Council and served for 25 years with the Corinna Volunteer Fire Department. He was instrumental in establishing the fire department and ambulance service, and served as its director for 12 years. He was a Corinna constable for over 10 years, and also served as a Penobscot County deputy sheriff and Maine State Deputy Fire Warden. He was a member of Cardinal Mercier Council No. 2625 Knights of Columbus, and was a communicant of St. Anne's Catholic Church. He was predeceased by his first wife, Katherine; a brother, Daniel; and a sister, Frances. On July 18, 1986, he married the former Joyce A. Page. He is survived by his wife of Dexter; two sons, C. Daniel Hill of Corinna and John Hill of Dexter; one daughter, Kathy Batchelder of Corinna; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Friends called Monday at the Crosby Funeral Chapel, Exeter Road, Corinna. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday at St. Anne's Church, Dexter, with the Rev. Marcel Robitaille officiating. Interment was in Morses Corner Cemetery, Corinna.
