REYNOLD F. THOMPSON DEXTER - Reynold F. Thompson, 90, died November 21, 1987, at a Dexter nursing home. He was born in Dexter, December 25, 1896, the son of Charles H. and Grace (Young) Thompson. He was a graduate of Dexter High School, Class of 1915, and was also a graduate of Shaw's Business College in Bangor. He was employed by Dexter Trust and Banking Company and the Merrill Trust Company for 29 years, serving as a branch bank manager in the towns of Jonesport, Machias, Orono and Dexter. In 1944, he purchased the Judkins Insurance Agency and left the bank in 1945 in order to devote full time to the agency, until his retirement, July 1, 1968. His son, Dean, who had been associated with the agency for many years, now carries on the firm. He was a veteran of World War I, a member of the Dexter Club, and the Poulliot-Seavey Post American Legion. He was a past member of the Masonic Bodies through the commandery and a past worthy patron of Wassookeag Chapter OES. He was a member of the school committee, the board of assessors and the town finance committee. He also served as trustee and treasurer of the Abbott Memorial Library for 15 years. A past commander of the Poulliot-Seavey Post, he also served as finance officer for many years. He was also a treasurer of local units of the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army. He was affiliated with the Dexter First Universalist Church and served as church treasurer for many years. He was predeceased by his wife, Statira, who died June 10, 1986. He is survived by two sons, Robert of Meriden, Conn., and Dean of Dexter; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Crosby Funeral Home, Dexter. Interment will. be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
