Obituary
Mrs. Kate P. Trafton The many friends of Mrs. Kate P. Trafton were saddened to learn of her death Thursday, May 16, two days after she suffered a stroke, at her home on Ripley Road. She was born in Dexter, December 20th, 1864, the daughter of Samuel A. and Sarah P. Lane Winslow. After her marriage to Herbert W. Trafton they went to Fort Fairfield to reside, later moving to Augusta, where he died in 1936. Mrs. Trafton then came to Dexter to make her home with her sister, Miss Sarah P. Winslow. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal church of Fort Farifield. Surviving are two sisters, Miss Winslow and Mrs. Annie Murphy, also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held from the Winslow home Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock the Rev. Gordon C. Reardon officiating. Among those from out of town attending the services were Mrs. Ida Winslow of Westbrook, Mr. and Mrs. John E. Goodwin of Augusta, Miss Dorothy Ansell and Willard C. Sawyer of Orono. The body was taken to Fort Fairfield, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ansell, and commital services were held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the grave. Richard Ramsay of Ramsay and Gates Company was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
