Obituary	STATIRA "STATIE" ROBERTS THOMPSON DEXTER - Statira "Statie" Roberts Thompson, died June 10, 1986, at a Dexter nursing home. She was born in Harrington, May 29, 1896, the daughter of Hatie E. and Carrie E. (Plummer) Roberts. She was educated in Harrington and Washington State Normal schools, now University of Maine at Machias. After teaching in schools in the Harrington area, she moved to Dexter in the fall of 1915 to teach the seventh grade at the Spring Street School. She held this position until her marriage in 1917. Mrs. Thomspon continued teaching in 1918 and 1919, while her husband was in the service. At that time, the family moved to Washington County. After their return to Dexter in 1934, she was a clerk in Koritsky's Department Store and later worked for Titcomb-Davis in Dexter. She was affiliated with the First Universalist Church, where she served for many years as a Sunday School teacher. She was a member of the Boneka Club and a former member of the Eastern Star and was a charter member of the Present American Legion Auxiliary. She served as an election clerk in the town for many years and was active in rummage sales and social organization food sales. She is survived by her husband, Reynold of Dexter; two sons, Robert of Meriden, Connecticut, and Dean of Dexter; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday at the Crosby Funeral Home, Dexter, with Rev. Richard Beal officiating. Friends called Wednesday at the funeral home.
