Obituary
JOHN LAWSON DEXTER - John Hugh Lawson 56, died January 18, 1983, at his Garland Road residence. He was born June 13, 1926, in White Haven, Pa., son of Hugh and Edith Weber Lawson. He was graduated from White Haven High School in the class of 1944 and the Philadelphia Institute of Technology in 1969. He served in the Army during World War II as a military policeman in Germany for two years. Before moving to Dexter eight years ago, he was self-employed as an airconditioning and refrigeration technician. He was a member of the Dexter United Methodist Church and served on a number of church committees and boards. He was a member and past commander of Poulliot-Seavey Post, American Legion as well as Penobscot Lodge No. 39 of Masons. He was a member of the Keystone Consistory, Valley of Scranton, Pa., as well as Irem Temple Shrine, Wilkes-Barre, Pa. He is survived by his mother of White Haven, Pa.; his wife, Pauline Hayes Lawson, Dexter and White Haven, Pa.; three sons, James and Richard, both of White Haven, and Sanders of Dexter; a daughter, Mrs. Danette McNelis, Sparta, N.J.; two sisters, Mrs. Alger (Gloria) Anderson, Atlanta, Ga., and Mrs. Dale (Mary) Dentler, Mechanicsburg, Pa. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Dexter United Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Marshall officiating. Friends called at the Crosby Funeral Home, Dexter. A Masonic service was held at the funeral home Friday. Spring interment will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
