Obituary
William L. Robbins Donald Robbins was in Deer Isle Monday to attend the funeral services of his brother, William L. Robbins, 62, who died suddenly Friday from a heart attack. William Robbins was the son of the late Byron and Maggie Robbins of Dexter and was a wellknown newspaper man. He was a former editor of Good Housekeeping magazine in Springfield, and was later managing editor of the Aroostoook Republican and editor of the Brunswick Record before becoming owner and publisher of the Deer Isle Messenger, weekly publication. He served his apprenticeship at the Bath Times. Mr. Robbins leaves a wife Mrs. Maude Robbins; two daughters; a son, serving in the Pacific; a sister, Lena P. Grant of Portland; a step-mother, Mrs. Rose J. Robbins of Dexter and a half brother, Donald Robbins of Dexter.
