Obituary	MRS. ALMA PIERCE DEXTER - Mrs. Alma Pierce, 91, died June 24 at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home following a long illness. She was born in Monticello, June 29, 1890, daughter of Alonzo and Mary Agnus (Green) Morrison. She graduated from Dexter High School, class of 1910 and attended Farmington Normal School. She taught schools in Rumford and in the Dexter area prior to her marriage to Clarence N. Pierce, Sept. 9, 1914 and continued to substitute teach in Dexter schools for a number of years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter as well as the Mission Circle. She served as Church financial secretary for many years and was Church treasurer for 31 years, retiring from that position in 1976. She was instrumental in reorganizing the Sunday School system in 1930 and was Sunday School superintendent for many years. She was also Sunday school superintendent in Ocean Park for 15 summers. She was a member of Martha Washington Rebekah Lodge, Dexter Grange and the Sunshine Club. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Reynold of Dexter and Dean of Minneapolis, Minn.; one daughter, Helen Morin of Dexter; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held June 28 at the First Baptist Church in Dexter with the Rev. A. Alan Brough and the Rev. John Dunn Jr. officiating. Arrangement were by Crosby Funeral Home, Dexter. Interment was in the family lot, Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. Friends who wish may make donations to the First Baptist Church in Dexter in Mrs. Pierce’s memory.
