Obituary
MERLE KNOX DEXTER – Merle B. Klnox, 76, died Jan. 6 at a Dexter nursing home following a long illness. He was born in Dexter on Feb. 12, 1905, son of George and Edith (Joselyn) Knox. He worked for the Dexter Post Office for 44 years. He was a veteran of World War II, and graduated form Dexter High School in 1923. He was a member of the Dexter Fish and Game Association, the Amerian Legion Poulliot-Seavey Post, the National Association of Letter Carriers, and was a communicant of St. Anne's Church. He is survived by his wife, Mabelle (Robichaud) Knox of Dexter; two daughters, Jacqueline Sands of Dexter and Dolores Holden of Augusta; one sister, Marion Dearbon of Dexter; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, a niece and two nephews. A Mass of Christan Burial was held Jan. 8 at St. Anne's Church in Dexter, with the Rev. Richard Rokas officiating. Arrangements were by Crosby Funeral Home, Dexter. Interment will be in the spring at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
