MRS. GRACE PHINNEY DEXTER - Mrs. Grace Phinney, 88, died Nov. 28, 1981, at the Dexter hospital following a long illness. She was born June 6, 1893, in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of John and Mary (Worrel) James. She was educated in Toledo, Ohio, moving to Maine, May 28, 1912. She worked for 15 years at the Dumbarton Woolen Mill and as a clerk in the 99 Cent Store, as well as being employed for a short time at the Burrill and Clarks Mill in Corinna. She was a former member of the Dexter Grange, the Rebekahs the Pythian Sister Temple and the Dexter United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband Marshall of Dexter; one son, John of Sangerville; and an adopted daughter, Joyce Cooper of Sacramento, Calif.; a stepsister, Marjorie Wilder of Norridgewock. Funeral services were held December 1 at the Crosby Funeral Home, Dexter, with the Rev. Vicki Woods officiating. Friends wishing may make memorial contributions to the Dexter United Methodist Church.
