Obituary	THELMA P. SMITH DEXTER and GARLAND - Thelma P. Smith, 78, died Sept. 19, 1981, at a Dexter hospital following a brief illness. She was born Nov, 16, 1912, in Lenexa, Kan., the daughter of Henry and Letha Laughlin Cooper. She resided in Kansas for 37 years, and lived in Connecticut for five years before moving to Maine. She was a homemaker and helped her husband, the late Albion Smith, in the dairy business for some 25 years. She is survived by three sons, William Forbes and Clifford Forbes, both of Wichita, Kan., and Henry Smith of Dexter; six daughters, Rosemary Ryan of Fall River, Kan., Betty Suntheimer of Volatie, N.Y., Charlotte Underwood of Jackson, Mich., Thelma Thompson of Oakdale, Conn., Letha Mountain of Chicopee, Mass., and Lillian Smith of Bangor; seven stepchildren; one sister, Mrs. Juanita Pinson of McPherson, Kan.; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Sept. 22 at the Crosby Funeral Home.
