ROGER ALLEN OLMSTED DEXTER - Roger Allen Olmsted, 56, died February 24, 1986, at a local hospital after a long illness. He was the son of Wendell and Mae (Higgins) Olmsted. He was born July 9, 1929, in Charleston and was a past assistant chief of the Dexter Fire Department, a member of the Dexter Ambulance Corps, veteran of the U.S. Navy, past master of Penobscot Masonic Lodge No. 39, member of St. John's Chapter No. 25, RAM, and Central Council No. 18. He was past president of the Arabian Horse Association of Maine. A first aid, CPR and ambulance training instructor for area towns, he had been a barber in Charleston, Dover- Foxcroft and Dexter. Most recently, he was a jeweler at Olmsted's Jewelry Store. He is survived by his wife, Marian (Weymouth) Olmsted of Dexter, four sons, Kenneth of Madison, Conn., Ronald of Manchester, N.H., Steven of Rockland and Gary of Bangor; two daughters, Joanne Robeson of Cherry Hill, N.J., and Dawn of Millis, Mass; four grandchildren; five brothers, Henry of Charleston, Norwood of South Glens Falls, N.Y., Victor of Pittsfield, Robert of Ashville, N.C., and Raymond of Dexter; one sister Rebecca Amero of Charleston. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 26, at the Crosby Funeral Home, Dexter. Friends called at the funeral home Tuesday. Masonic services were held at the funeral home Tuesday. Friends wishing may make memorial contributions in his memory to the Dexter Fire Department or Ambulance Service. Contributions may be left at the Funeral Home.
