Obituary
HORACE "SPIKE" GORDON DEXTER - Horace "Spike" Gordon, 83, died December 15, 1985, at his Lincoln Street residence. He was born in West Garland, March 29, 1902, the son of Ralph and Inez (Batchelder) Gordon. He attended Dexter High School and sold cars in Dexter, Newport and Pittsfield. He was personnel director at the NYA in Dexter and taught in the industrial arts department in Millinocket. He was employed for Fay and Scott Machine Shop until his retirement at age 69. Spike was a member of the First Universalist Church and the Dexter Fish and Game Association. He is survived by his wife, Marion (Call) Gordon of Dexter; a daughter, Jeanne Keene of Orland; one son, "Tad" of Ocala, Florida; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. There were no visiting hours. Funeral services were held Decembber 18 at the Crosby Funeral Home, Dexter. Interment will be in the spring in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Memorial contributions for the Heart Association or the Sunshine Club of Dexter may be left at the funeral home.
