MRS. HELEN I. CROSBY DEXTER - Mrs. Helen I. Crosby, 86, widow of Clarence H. Crosby, died July 19,1981 at a Bangor health care center following a period of failing health. A lifelong resident of Dexter, she was born August 2, 1894, the daughter of Charles H. and Isabella (Knight) Foss. She was a graduate of Dexter High School and Smith College. She was a member of the Sunshine Club, former member of the Rebecca Weston Chapter, D.A.R., and honorary member of the Dexter Women's Literary Club. She was also a member of the Hospital Associates, and a member of the former Dexter Congregational Church, and attended the Dexter Universalist Church, and was a member of the Ladies' Aid. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Isabella) Shipman of Wolfboro, N.H., and Mrs. Charlton (Priscilla) Lewis of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two sons, Charles J. Crosby of Natick, Mass., and David Crosby of Bangor; a cousin, Gerald Wheeler of Laconia, N.H.; a niece, Mrs. Robert Graves of Orono; ten grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Universalist Church in Dexter with the Rev. Robert W. Sterling officiating. Private committal services will be held n the family lot in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. Friends who wish may contribute in her memory to the Sunshine Club in Dexter care of Mrs. Paul Johnson, treasurer, Dover Rd., Dexter. Arrangements by Brookings Smith, Bangor.
