Forest L. Hutchinson Forest L. Hutchinson, 75, a well known and highly respected farmer and Granger, died Monday noon at the Plummer Memorial hospital of Coronary Thrombosis. Although he had been in failing health for the past year he had been seriously ill only two weeks. He was the son of John W. and Lois Merrow Hutchinson, and was born in the neighboring town of Sangerville, November 3, 1870, and had always lived there, though his fraternal affiliations and many business connection were in Dexter. In 1892 he was married to Miss Lena Ellms, who survives him. He received his education in the Dexter public schools and for sometime was fertilizer credit manager for Armour's and was chief of the Bureau of Markets in the Department of Agriculture at Augusta. He had served his native town as a member of the board of selectmen on several occasions, was a member of the school board at the time of his death and had acted as moderator at the Sangerville town meetings for 29 successive years. Mr. Hutchinson was a member of Penobscot Lodge, F. and A. M., Sir Bedeviere Lodge, K. of P., Dexter Grange, P. of H., Pomona Grange and was a director of the Dexter Grange Store. Besides his wife he leaves one son, Albert F. Hutchinson of Bound Brook, N. J.; three daughters, Mrs. Gladys Giant, Silver's Mills, Mrs. Marie Mace Eliot, Maine, Mrs. Doris Wiggett, Randolph, Vt.; and eight grandchildren. One grandson, Earle Mace, who received the Legion Merit award, was killed in France. Funeral services were held from the First Baptist church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. Morley J. Durost officiating. The body was placed in the receiving vault at Mt. Pleasant cemetery to await burial in the spring at the French's Mills cemetery.
