Obituary	CLIFFORD "KIP" GILBERT DEXTER - Clifford Joseph Gilbert, 88, died July 3, 1985, at a Dexter nursing home. He was born in Dexter January 10, 1897, the son of Joseph and Mabel (Clukey) Gilbert. He attended Dexter schools and served in the U.S. Army during World War I. He was predeceased by his wife, Doreldia (Curty) Gilbert, who died January 10, 1958. In 1969, he retired from Dumbarton Woolen Mills. He was a lifelong resident of Dexter. An avid sports fan all his life, he was an outstanding baseball player as a young man. Later, he coached Little League for several years. He was a charter member of the Cardinal Mercier Council, Knights of Columbus, a member of the American Legion Post No. 53, and the Dexter Fish and Game Association. He was a communicant of St. Anne's Parish of Dexter. He is survived by a son, Norman of Hartland; a daughter, Mrs. Lionel (Florice) Laferriere of Dexter; two sisters, Mrs. Evelyun Pullyard of Guilford and Mrs. Alfred (Zepharine) Landry of New Port Richey, Fla.; two brothers, Reginald and Donald, both of Dexter; seven grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday at St. Anne's Catholic Church In Dexter with Rev. Ray Richard officiating. Friends called at the Crosby Funeral Home in Dexter Thursday. Prayers were said at the funeral home by the Knights of Columbus. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the St. Anne's Parish Center for the youth program, care of Crosby Funeral Home, 238 Main St., Dexter 04930.
