Obituary	JAMES P. CHANDLER DEXTER - James Philip Chandler, 75, died March 4, 1985 in Dover-Foxcroft, He was born in Old Town, September 16, 1909, the son of John and Laura (Rolfe) Chandler. He graduated from N.H. Fay High School in Dexter in 1927 and from Oswego Normal School, Oswego, New York in 1929. For 27 years he taught industrial arts in Port Chester, New York, Freeport and Oakland, Maine, and Harrisonburg, Virginia. From 1952 until his retirement in 1971 he worked in the field of rehabilitation for the handicapped in Virginia, Washington, D.C., New Hampshire and Maine. He is survived by his wife Charlotte (Eliot) Chandler of Dexter; three sons, Eliot of Arrowsic, Maine, John of Dorchester, Massachusetts and Rolfe of Sterling, Virginia; a sister, Sara Chandler Hopkins of Dexter; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Private graveside services will be held in the spring at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter. Donations may be made in his memory to the Dexter Ambulance Service, c/o Crosby Funeral Home, Main St., Dexter.
