Obituary	ESTHER J. BATEY CORINNA - Esther J. Batey 86, wife of the late Robert W. Betsy, died Feb. 17, 1985, in Pittsfield after a short illness. She was born Dec. 12, 1898, in Stetson, the daughter of Miah and Rose (Davis) Downs. She attended Corinna United Methodist Church and was a member of the Corinna Senior Citizens. She is survived by six sons, Harvard Howes of Carmel, Alton Howes of Rumford, Albert Howes of Dover- Foxcroft, Thomas Howes of Massachusetts, Edgar Rockwell of Newbern, N.C., and Ronald Rockwell of Cambridge; four daughters, Mrs. Herman (Elsie) Belanger and Mrs. Lillian Sands, both of Dexter, Mrs. Maxine Fields of Corinna and Mrs. Nathan (Roberta) Glover of Germany; four sisters, Mrs. Ruth Bartlett of Pittsfield, Mrs. Harl (Anna) McKusick of Dexter, Mrs. Stanley (Nettie) Drake of Garland and Mrs. Mazie Jordon of Oakland, Calif.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Thompson Funeral Home, Corinna. Spring burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
