Obituary
Ernest Leroy Sevey Ernest Leroy Sevey, 78, a life long and highly respected citizen of Ripley, died at his home Wednesday morning after a long illness. He was born December 9, 1867, the son of Leroy and Annette Jones Sevey. He was a well known farmer and lumberman in this section and was always interested in civic and national affairs. Fraternally he was associated with the Masons and was a 32nd degree member. He was also a member of the Grange. His wife, the former Lona Moody, died July 3, 1944. Surviving are two daughters Mrs. Myra Jackson and Mrs. Dorothy Young of Dexter; and five sons, John, Roy, Charles, Albert and Elmer, al1 of Ripley. Funeral services will be held from the Grange hall in Ripley Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, the Rev. Morley J. Durost of the Dexter Baptist church officiating. The body will be placed in the receiving tomb at Mt. Pleasant to await burial in Ferndale cemetery in Ripley in the spring. Bearers will be the sons and sons-in-law.
