Obituary
RODNEY A.YOUNG DEXTER - Rodney A. Young, 83, died June 15, 1984, at his Pleasant St. residence after a long illness. He was born in Boston, Mass., Aug. 31, 1900, the son of Oran and Grace (Morrison) Young. He lived most of his youth in Greenville, attended Greenville High School and later got a B.S. degree in education at the University of Maine. He was a retired teacher and had been a bookkeeper, store manager and a farmer. He was a member of the Penobscot Lodge of Masons No. 39, the St. Johns Chapter NO. 25, the Anah Temple Shrine, the Central Council as well as the DeMolay Commandary. He was a member of the Wassookeag Chapter Eastern Star, the Dexter Grange and the First Baptist Church, where he taught for several years. He was a member of the Golden Age Club and a retired volunteer for Meals for Me RSVP out of Bangor. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Sevey) Young of. Dexter; two sons, Blaine A. of Chula Vista, Calif., and Dale A. of Basking Ridge N.J.; one daughter, Mrs. lla L. Burns of Poland, Maine; five grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday at First Baptist Church, Dexter, with the Rev. Dan Last officiating. Friends called at Crosby Funeral Home, Dexter, and Masonic services were on Saturday. Interment will be in Ferndale Cemetery, Ripley.
