Funeral services for the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Nelson were held Tuesday, February 8, at two o'clock at their home in Corinna and were largely attended. Little Rita died at the Scott-Webb hospital in Hartland Sunday forenoon after a short illness of bronchial pneumonia. Rev. Mr. Halliday of Dexter spoke comforting words to the bereaved young parents, and Mr. Crosby of Dexter was in charge. Bearers for the little one were close friends of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson, and were Donald McLean, Louis McLoud, Elmer Philbrick and Victor Springer. Interment was in the Crocker cemetery and the lovely flowers were silent tribute to the high esteem held for the young couple and the sympathy extended to them in their great loss. Surviving besides the parents are the great-grandmother, Mrs. Cora Nelson and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Crocker and Mr. and Mrs ,Burnes Nelson, several aunts and uncles. Rita Elaine was born at the Scott-Webb hospital on September 14, 1943 and was nearly five months old. Out of town relatives attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Packard and daughter, Allard Packard, Mr. and Mrs. Perry Nelson and daughter of Dexter, Carl Crocker of Newport, R. I., Mrs. Thelma Patterson of Nashua, N. H., Miss Vira Libby of Brunswick, Mrs. Opal Edgecomb of Dexter, Stanley Nelson of Corinna.
