Harold Hatch: former assistant postmaster DEXTER - Harold Hatch, 88, died December 24, 1983 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was an employee at the Dexter Post Offoce before joining the U.S. Army in 1918 where he served as a musician in France. When he returned home, he served as a assistant post master in Dexter until his retirement at the age of 62. Hatch was active in numerous civic organizations and was a member of the Shrine Band, as well as the York Tite Bodies. He played trombone with the Bangor Symphony Orchestra and the Paul Giles band for many years. Hatch is survived by his wife, Sybil Hatch of Dexter; one daughter, Sybil Leonard of Dexter; one brother, Norman, and a nephew, Lloyd Harvey, both of Dexter; a niece Barbara H. Rust of Newtonville, Mass.; three grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.
