Obituary	MARION A. McFARLAND DEXTER - Marion A. McFarland, 57, died May 25 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital after a long illness. She was born in Corinna July 22, 1922, daughter of Norris and Orrilla (Knowles) McFarland. She served in the WACS United States Army during World War II. She was a member of the Poulett-Seavey American Legion Post of Dexter. She attended Corinna Union Academy, graduated from Husson College, and attended the University of Maine. She had taught school for 31 years in the towns of Richmond, Charleston, and Buxport, at Endicott Junior College in Beverly, Mass., and for the past 13 years in Dexter. She is survived by one brother Fred McFarland of Long Beach, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Ella Alley of Waterville, Mrs. Grace Hudson of Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Ethel Reeks of Dexter; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held May 28 at the Crosby Funeral Home, Dexter. Interment was in the Corinna Center Cemetery. Friends may contribute to the Marion McFarland Scholarship Fund at the Dexter Regional High School.
