Obituary	MELZER F. HARTFORD DEXTER - Melzer F. Hartford, 75, died April 17 at a Bangor hospital after a long illness. He was born at Mapleton Dec. 9, 1904, son of Melzer E. and Georgia (Verrill) Hartford. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dexter, and had been employed at Fay-Scott Machine Shop for many years before his retirement a few years ago. He is survived by one son, Lawrence of Dexter; one stepson; Elmer Lyon on Lincoln; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Marion Cooper of Orland, Mrs. Marjorie Hooper of York and Mrs. Winnifred Cookson of Dexter; two brothers, Roland of Middletown, Conn., and Raymond of East Windsor, Conn.; three sisters, Mrs. Nora Bartlett of Ashland, Mrs. Edna Harper of East Corinth and Mrs. Larice Denny of LaPlata, Md.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services were April 19 at the First Baptist Church in Dexter with the Rev. John Dunn officiating. Funeral arrangements were made by Crosby Funeral Home of Dexter. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter, later.
