Obituary
Car crash fatal to former Dexter man CARMEL - A former Dexter man was killed Feb. 14 when the car which he was driving went out of control and slammed into a utility pole. Police report that Mark Wyman, 22, died at Eastern Maine Medical Center less than two hours after the 1:00 a.m. accident, which occurred as Wyman was heading toward Newport on Rte. 2 in Carmel Village. Investigating officer Trooper Roy Brooks of Plymouth said the cause of the accident was excessive speed. Wyman, said police, lost control as he rounded a curve in the village and his car rolled and crashed into the pole. The impact wrapped the car around the pole and totally demolished his 1978 Datsun. Both the Levant Rescue and CArmel Ambulance services worked to extricate Wyman from the car. He was then transported to Eastern Maine where he died at 2:54 a.m. from multiple injuries. Assisting Brooks in the tigation. which is still underway, were Cpl. Roland Foss of Kenduskeag and Carmel Constable Fred Emerson. Funeral services for Wyman, a 1976 graduate of Dexter Regional High School, were held Feb. 16 at Crosby Funeral Home, Dexter. He was employed as a truck driver. He was born April 22, 1957, son of Lester and Mildred (Knowles) Wyman. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Vickie (Robinson) Wyman, one young son, Brad Jospeh, both of Exeter; five brothers, David, Norman, Melvin, all of Dexter, and Richard of Milo; three sisters, Mrs. Gary (Judith) Ganeau of Hermon, Mrs. William (Geraldine) Rizzitello of Guilford, and Mrs. Gerald (Barbara; Marshall of Knox; one grandmother, Mrs. Claire Thompson of Belgrade; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
