Obituary	SINCLAIR CLUKEY KILLED IN AUTO ACCIDENT Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Clukey were notified by telegram, Wednesday morning of the death of their eldest son, Sinclair M. Clukey, in an automobile crash in Mississippi, just south of Harrisburg, on Tuesday night. Only a meager account of the fatal accident has been learned by the family but it is known that four persons lost their lives, Mr. Clukey and his wife's uncle, and the driver and helper of an oil truck, which collided with their light car. Sinclair Clukey was, born in Sangerville, June 4, 1919 the son of Daniel M. and Flora Clukey, but lived the greater part of his life in Dexter where he attended the local schools. As a member of Headquarters Company of the National Guard he entered active military service in February 1941 and trained in several southern camps before going into the Southern Pacific Theatre of War. He took part as a staff sergeant in the Guadalcanal, Russell Islands, Rendova and New Georgia campaigns and received serious head in juries in New Georgia. He was hospitalized in New Caledonia, San Francisco and finally spent eight months at the Walter Reed hospital in Washington where he underwent several operations. Following a medical discharge in May he was employed for a time in Washington D. C., later going to Meridian, Miss., where he made his home, with his wife and adopted son. Funeral services and burial will be in Meridian. Surviving besides his parents, his wife and adopted son are seven sisters, Miss Cecelia Clukey of Springfield, Mass., Mrs. Athalie Bascom of Providence, R. L, Constance, Beverly Rita, Audrey, Eileen and Crystal, at home; and four brothers, Hiliary Patrick, Peter and Thomas, at home. Another brother, Petty Qfficer Daniel A. Clukey, was killed in action in the Pacific last spring.
