ROY H. TOWLE JR. DEXTER - Roy H. Towle Jr., 63, died Aug. 3 at the veterans hospital in Togus after a long illness. He was born in Dextr, Feb. 1, 1916, the son of Roy and Sarah Rollins Towle Sr. He was employed at the Abbot Woolen Mill for over 18 years and most recently employed at the Cascade Woolen Mill in Oakland until 1978. He served in the Amy in World War II. He was a life memeber of the Shirley B. Carter VFW Post and past commander; also past commander of District 5, and member of the Dexter Grange. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Avery Towle of Dexter; one daughter, Mary Jane Kennedy of Dexter; one brother, Robert owle of Lyndonville, Vt., one step-brother, Orville Seeley of Dexter; one half-brother, Holman Towle of Seattle, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs. Lois Cookson of Bangor and Mrs. Emma Marie Walters of Lakeland, Fla.; one grandchild, Roy Howard Kennedy of Dexter; several cousins. Funeral services were Aug. 6 at the Crosby Funeral Home, Dexter. Services were conducted by the Rev. John Dunn of the First Baptist Church. Military committal services were held at the Maine Veterans Cemetery. Friends wishing to contribute to contribute to a Memorial fund in his name may forward it to the Jackson Memorial Laboratory for Cancer Research.
