Obituary	Mrs. Omar F. Carr Mrs. Josephine Emma Carr, 60, one of the most beloved women in Dexter, died early this morning at the Eastern Maine General Hospital. Born in Palmyra, December 9th, 1883, the daughter of Sylvester and Josephine Phinney, she attended schools in Palmyra and Pittsfield, and was graduated from Castine Normal School. She taught school in Sangerville, and on August 1st, 1906, married Omar F. Carr. They lived in Sangerville and Hartland, and moved to Dexter about twelve years ago. Mrs. Carr held offices in Susie Carr Chapter 181, 0. E. S., was a charter member of the J. T. Club, and past president of the Literary Club, all of Sangerville; she was president of the Literary Clubs of Hartland and Dexter, a trustee of the Plummer Memorial Hospital, past president of the Sunshine CIub and a former member of the Dexter School Committee. Active in Universalist circles, she was a member of the Board of Directors of the First Universalist church, Dexter; served as Chairman of the Armed Services Committee, was secretary of the Ladies' Aid and superintendent of the Primary Department of the Junior Church. She is survived by her husband, Omar, associated with the Amos Abbott Company; two sons, Dr. Ogden M. Carr of Dexter, and Sgt. Theodore 0. Carr, Army Air Corps, Lemoore Field, Cal.; two sisters, Mrs. William Welch of Stonington and Mrs. Myra Keller of, Salem Mass.; two brothers, Prentiss Phinney of Medford, Mass., and Harold Phinney of Dorchester, Mass., and two grandchildren, Ogden M. Carr, Jr., and Roger S. Carr. Funeral services will be conducted at the First Universalist Church, Dexter, Saturday at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. Gordon Chilson Reardon, officiating. The bearers will be Millard G. Otto, Charles H. Ansell, Roy E. Davis and William R. Johnson. She will rest at the Crosby Funeral Home until Sunday.
