Obituary	T. Sgt. MARSH KILLED IN GERMANY JUNE 1944 Dexter friends will be sorry to learn that Mr. and Mrs. Guy Marsh of Brewer, have been notified by the War department that their son, Technical Sergeant Guy Marsh , Jr., 24, was killed in action, June 30, 1944 He had been reported missing in action for a year. Sgt. Marsh was a member of the 15th Air Force in Italy, and on his last mission, his 31st, was flying over Berlin in a B-24. Five members of the crew were killed and five were taken prisoner. When the latter five were liberated recently, Lieut. Conlon, the bombardier, wrote the story of what happened on that day, one year ago, and sent it to Mr. and Mrs. Marsh. In the Air Force for a year and a half, five months of which time were spent in Italy, Sgt. Marsh was a radio gunner. He trained at Miami, Fla.; Scott Field, Ill.; Tucson, Ariz.; Salt Lake City, Utah; Chatham, Ga., and was stationed at Mitchel Field, N. Y., before going overseas. He wore the Air Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters and the Good Conduct Ribbon. Sgt. Marsh was born in Bangor, and was graduated from Bangor high school. After completing the machinist course at the N. Y. A. school in Dexter, he went to Connecticut where he was employed in the Chance Vought aircraft division of the Sikorsky Aircraft corporation until his enlistment in January, 1943. Besides his parents, he is survived by three brothers, Sgt. Earl S. Marsh, in the Army in France, Cpl. Roland A. Marsh with the Marine Corps in Virginia, and Paul A. Marsh; and six sisters, the Misses Norma A., Pauline A., Shirley M., and Esther Marsh; Mrs. Lillian Quigley of Long Island, N. Y., and Mrs. Marion King of Dexter; three nephews and two nieces.
