Obituary
HARVEY R. FILLMORE Palmyra - Harvey R. Fillmore, 82, died Sept. 23 at a Pittsfield hospital after a long illness. He was born in Dexter on Aug. 31, 1896, the son of George and Marion (Gillman) Fillmore. He had been a resident of Palmyra for the past six years, previously living in Silver Mills. He was married to the former Mary D. Morrill of Cambridge for 62 years. He had been employed as a section hand for the Maine Central Railroad nearly all his life. At the time of his retirement in 1961, he was section foreman between Pittsfield and Maine Stream. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Political League, he was also a member of the Palmyra Senior Citizens and a former member of the South Sangerville Grange. Besides his wife of Cambridge, he is survived by two half-sisters, Mrs. Grace Cochran of Dover, and Mrs. Louise Smith of Dexter; one half-brother, Samuel of Florida; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were Sept. 25 at the Donald H. Shorey Funeral Chapel in Pittsfield. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
