Obituary	PERRY A. GILBERT GUILFORD - Perry Gilbert, 69, died Aug. 21 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born April 7, 1909 in Vassalboro, son of Jesse and Estella (Sherman) Gilbert. He was a crane operator in Michigan until his retirement, when he moved to Guilford. He is survived by his wife, Marylou (Carroll) Gilbert of Guilford; 14 children, seven sons, Joseph of Augusta, Robert, of Madison, Irving of Hermon, Richard of Odessa, Texas, David of Dryden, Mich., William of Mt. Clements, Mich., and Charles of Guilford; seven daughters, Elinor Gilbert of Guilford, Mrs. Paul (Jean) Larson of Rumford, Mrs. John (Lillian) Tracy of Oakland, Mrs. Duncan (Ellen) Grant of Charleston, S.C., Carol Gilbert from Roseville, Mich., Mrs. Mark (Margaret) Peterson of Green Bay, Wisc., and Kathleen Gilbert of Dexter. The other survivors include 19 grandchildren; one brother, Ivan Gilbert of Limerick; three sisters, Clare of Gorham, and Doris and Alice of Vassalboro; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were Aug. 23 at the United Methodist Church of Guilford with burial at the Abbot Village Cemetery. Contributions may be made in his memory to the Abbot Community Church or the United Methodist Church of Guilford.
