CHARLES (BUD] ELLMS JR. RIPLEY - Charles (Bud) Ellms Jr., 56, died Sunday, in a Bangor hospital after a long illness. He was born May 27, 1927, at Dexter, the son of Charles and Ethatinda Eaton Ellms. He was a member of the Ripley United Methodist Church, past member of the board of directors, and active in the Dexter Sunrise Kiwanis Club. He was a member of the Fish and Game Association of which he was a past director. He was a member of the Ripley Grange, and a selectman in Ripley for 14 years. He taught heavy equipment operations and small engine repair at the Regional Vocational School for 14 years. He served in the 583 Army Engineer Construction Group In Japan in 1945. He was co-owner of the C.M. Ellms Construction Co. He is survived by his wife, Ginny, his mother, one son, Charles (Chuck) and one daughter, Mrs. Harry (Peggy) Taylor, all of Ripley; two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Ethalinda) Dow, of Fryeburg, and Mrs. Maxine Noyes, of Newfields, N.H.; two grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the United Methodist Church, Dexter. Friends called at Crosby Funeral Home Monday. Interment was in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
