Obituary	CHARLES KNOWLES CORINNA - Charles H. Knowles, 72, died Nov. 16, 1983, at his Corinna Center Road residence, after a long illness. He was born in Corinna, Jan. 29, 1911, the son of Albert and Susan (Wheeler) Knowles. He was a graduate of Corinna Union Academy, class of 1930, and was a dairy farmer until 1972, when he retired due to falling health. From 1947 to 1966 he served as both tax assessor and selectman in Corinna. He also drove a school bus for 30 years. He is survived by his wife, Beulah (Doherty) Knowles of Corinna; two daughters, Linda Smith of Corinna and Donna Lee Brodeur of Millinocket; one brother, John of Dexter; five grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the Crosby Funeral Home, Corinna, with the Rev. Terence McKinley, of the Corinna United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was in the family lot, Corinna Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Maine Lung Association, 128 Sewall Street, Augusta 04330.
