Obituary	JAMES S. DYER NEWPORT and CORINNA - James Silas Dyer, 77, died Nov. 8, 1983, at a Dexter nursing home. He was born June 23, 1906, in Manchester, N.H., the son of James and Effie (Drew) Dyer Sr. He was a spinner at Guilford Industries for many years, retiring in 1971. He is survived by a son, Denzel of Greenfield, N.H.; two daughters, Frances Giroux of Danbury, Conn., and Sally Amsden of Dexter; one brother, Danzel of Boston, Mass.; a sister, Ruth McCordic of Littleton; a half sister, Thurley Sanborn of Mars Hill; 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Crosby Funeral Home, Newport, with the Rev. Jan Davis of the People's United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was in the family lot, Riverside Cemetery, Newport.
