Obituary	LEON P. BENNETT DEXTER-Leon P. Bennett 76, died Jan. 26 at a Dexter hospital after a long illness. He was born in Dexter Nov. 14, 1901, the son of Pearl and Blanche (Lane) Bennett. He attended the United Methodist Church. He had lived for several years in Newport, where he was proprietor of the Bennett Handle Mill. He moved to Dexter about 28 years ago. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Phillip (Mary Ann) Pynes of Dexter; one brother, Clifford Bennett of Charleston; four sisters, Mrs. Francis (Hazel) McDonald of Hallowell, Mrs. Pauline Worster of Augusta, Mrs. Violet Plummer of Fla. and Mrs. Thelma Hassen of Augusta; three grandchildren. Funeral services were Jan. 28 at the Crosby Funeral Home, Dexter. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter, in the spring.
