Obituary
T-5 GODSOE KILLED IN SOUTH PACIFIC Word has been received from the War Department that T/5 Charles L. Godsoe, 25, was killed in action in the South Pacific. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Godsoe of Dexter and had been previously reported as Missing in Action. He entered the service on September 26, 1943 and the following July spent a seventeen days furlough visiting relatives and friends. He was then sent overseas to the South Pacific. He received the Purple Heart award and the Good Conduct medal. Prior to his induction he was employed by the A. W. Keyte Estate. T/5 Godsoe leaves one sister, Mrs. Charlene Sargent of Dexter, a half sister, Mrs. Irving Priest of Sangerville and three half brothers, Somewhere overseas; also several nieces and nephews.
