Obituary	CLARE E. "SLIM" McGLAUFLIN NEWPORT-Clare E. "Slim" McGlauflin, 75, died Jan. 2 at a Pittsfield hospital after a short illness. He was born in Presque Isle Feb. 19, 1902, the son of Percy and Sarah Leighton McGlauflin. He was a member of the High Street Congregational Church, a life member of American Legion post No. 105 in Newport and had held the office of sergeant at arms. He was employed by Guilford Industries for many years until his retirement about 10 years ago. He is survived by one stepson, George McGlauflin of Bangor; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Carl (Rose) Crawford of Dexter, Mrs. Steven (Lucille)Bednarcyzk of W. Stockbridge, Mass., and Mrs. Edwin (Cecelia) Hall of Stockbridge Road, Lee, Mass. and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were Jan. 4 at the Crosby Funeral Home in Newport. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Newport in the spring.
