Obituary
FLOYD HAMMOND DEXTER-Floyd Hammond, 72, died at a Dexter hospital, Nov. 2, after a short illness. He was born in Mapleton, Maine, Oct. 29, 1905, the son of William and Nellie Cookson Hammond. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter. He retired six years ago from the Fayscott Machine Shop, where he was employed for over 37 years. He has been an active mason, an Eastern Star member, past master of Penobscot Masonic Lodge No. 39, member of St. Johns royal Arch Masons, Dexter, and also Capital Council 18, Royal Select Masons, Dover-Foxcroft, and a 50-year member of the Central Council of the Order of DeMolay for Boys. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Alice Waugh Hammond; one son, Leon; one daughter, Mrs. Roger (Arlene) Davis, one brother, Ray Hammond; five grandchildren; all of Dexter. Funeral services were Nov. 4, at the Crosby Funeral Home, Dexter. The Rev. John Dunn of the First Baptist Church officiated. Burial was at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter.
