Obituary
Mrs. Lena E. Getchell Funeral services for Mrs. Lena E. Getchell, were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Baptist church in Dexter Me., the Rev. Harold Wheeler pastor of the Free Baptist church officiating. The bearers were three brothers-in laws, Owen, Hughie, Erold Getchell and a nephew, Warren Getchell all of Mass. Internment was in the Mount Pleasant cemetery in Dexter. Besides her husband, Linal Getchell, she leaves an infant son, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie W. Rees; six sisters, Hazel Downing of Dexter, Beulah Nelson of Ripley, Amy Rotell of New York, Elizabeth and Bernice Rees of Massachusetts and Coris Grant of Oakland; two brothers, William Rees of Dexter, Harold Rees of Sangerville. She was born in Mars Hill Maine, in 1909 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Rees. She attended school in Mars Hill and later went to Mass, where she married Linal A. Getchell of Medfield, Massachusetts and lived until the past four and one half years, when they moved to Dexter. Those attending from out of town were, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Getchell, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Getchell and son, Warren, Hughie and Erold Getchell all of Mass., Mrs. Dorothy Hamilton of Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Cooney of St. Albans; Mr. and Mrs. Herbie Smith of North Dexter; Mr. George Broad, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kearney, Mr. and Mrs. Perley Rees, Mr. and Mrs. Mac Noble, Mrs. Vinal Rees and son, Norman, Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln Rees, Mrs. Laura Boynton all of Mars Hill. Mr. and Mrs. Hale Tapley of Hartland and Mr. Al Smith of Providence, R. I. The flowers were many and beautiful. Two hymns were sang by the Rev. and Mrs. Werner Johnson, Will the Circle Be Unbroken, When I've Gone the Last Mile of the Way.
