Mrs. Hattie M. Eaton Mrs. Hattie M. Eaton, 81, passed away Wednesday morning, October 17, at her home in Exeter, after a few days of severe illness. She had been failing in health for some months, and was taken seriously ill Sunday, October 7. She was born in Exeter, March 26, 1864, the daughter of Ward L. Quimby and Mrs. Lydia Judkins Quimby. After the death of her mother she was her father's housekeeper for a term of years. She married Isaac A. Eaton, March. 11, 1885, And the remainder of her life was passed at the Exeter home. Two daughters, Blanche and Ruby, and two sons, Maurice and Orrin, were born to them. Mr. Eaton's death occurred September 29, 1921. Mrs. Eaton was a home-loving, industrious wife and mother, a kind neighbor and friend, whose memory will be lovingly cherished. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ruby MacAlister, a son, Orrin C. Eaton, both of Exeter, seven grandchildren, Mrs. Dorothy Chambers of Corinna, Karl, Marilyn, Claudine, Maynard, Millard and Paul Eaton, all of Exeter, and one great-grandson, Reginald Chambers of Corinna. She also leaves a half-brother, Leon Quimby of Corinna, a half-sister, Miss June Quimby of Pownal and two nephews, Dr. Maynard W. Quimby of Wellesly Hills, Mass., and Millard J. Quimby of Corinna. Funeral services were held at the home Friday at 2 o'clock the Rev. Gordon Chilson Reardon of Dexter officiating. Floral tributes were many and beautiful. Relatives and friends attending from out of town included Mr. and Mrs. Carrol Chambers, Mrs. Dora Quimby, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Quimby, Mr. and Mrs. Millard Quimby, Mr. and Mrs. Crosby Eaton, all of Corinna; Mrs. Ruth Coulthard, South Portland, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ellms, Ripley, Mr. Daniel Harrington and Mr. Wilbur Otis, Carmel, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Freese, Levant; Mrs. Folsom of Dexter, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Bamford, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shaw, Bangor. Bearers were Albert Freese, Ora Eastman, Dana Freese and John Leathers. Interment was at Exeter Center cemetery.
