Obituary
Charles Franklin Peavey Charles Franklin Peavey better known as "Ted" Peavey 79, died Wednesday night at a Bangor hospital, where he had been but a brief time. He had been in poor health for only a few weeks. His parents were Hiram and Mehitabel (Watson) Peavey. He was born in Exeter and and lived there until 23 years ago, when the family moved to Corinna and purchased the farm 1ocally known as the A. R. Blaisdell place. He married Miss Hattie Eastman of Corinna, who died in 1938. He was road commissioner in Exeter before coming to Corinna. He is survived by two sons and two daughters. John Peavey of Corinna and Mo. M. M. 1/c, Lester Peavey, Mrs. Luene Cote of Newport, N. H. and Mrs. Marie Pipes of Corinna; two granddaughters, Sally Jane Cote of Newport, N. H. and Carla Pipes of Corinna and an older sister, Mrs. Eliza Parkman of Dexter, who was present at the funeral. The funeral services were held Friday at 2 P. M. at the Buxton Funeral Parlors, Corinna, with Rev. J. W. Reynolds pastor emeritus of the High St. Union church, Newport, who has been the pastor in the family in the past, speaking. There were many beautiful pieces of flowers. R. J. Buxton had charge of the funeral arrangements. The bearers were: JIC. Brown, Alton Bird, Jerry Roberts and Lester Jones. The burial was in the East Exeter cemetery in the family lot.
