Obituary
MRS. BERTHA SAWYER CLICHE DEXTER - Bertha Sawyer Cliche, 50, died Feb. 10 at a Bangor hospital. She was born in Ripley, Jan. 30, 1926, daughter of Ivan and Louise Farrar. She was a communicant of the Episcopal Church of the Messiah, past president of the Episcopal Church Women, past noble grand of the Martha Washington Rebekah Lodge. She was employed by the Dexter Shoe Co. Besides her husband, Paul Cliche of Dexter, she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Louise Farrar of Dexter; a daughter Mrs. Stephen (Lou-Dean) Lipman of South Eastern, Mass.; two brothers, Wayne Farrar of Schenectady, NY, and Vernal Farrar of Long Beach, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Lula Gould of Boxford, Mass.; a grandchild; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were February 12 at the Episcopal Church, the Rev. Gordon A. Reynolds officiating. Friends wishing may contribute to the Pine Tree Diabetics Association, treasurer Howard Buckley, Merch Hospital, Portland, or the Memorial Fund in her name at the Episcopal Church of the Messiah c-o the Rev. Gordon Reynolds.
