MRS. MYRA S. JACKSON DEXTER - Mrs. Myra S. Jackson, 77, of 43 Pleasant St., the widow of Howard L. Jackson, died Feb. 4 at a Waterville hospital after a long illness. She was born Feb. 21, 1898, in Corinna, the daughter of Ernest and Lona (Moody) Sevey. She attended the Corinna elementary school and was a 1916 graduate of Dexter High School. She attended Farmington Normal School, class of 1922, and the University of Maine. A schoolteacher for more than 35 years, she was a member of the Maine Teachers Association. She was a 50-year member of the Dexter Grange; a member of the First Baptist Church and president of the Mission Circle; a regent of the Rebecca Weston Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, and an active member of the, Dexter Historical Society. She and her husband owned and operated the Sandy Bay Sporting Camps in Greenville for a number of years prior to his death in 1950. Surviving is one sister, Mrs. Rodney (Dorothy) Young of Dexter; four brothers, Roy Sevey of Dexter, Albert and Elmer Sevey, both of Ripley; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services were February 7 at the Dexter First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Dunn officiating. Spring burial will be in Ferndale Cemetery, Ripley.
