Obituary	VERNON E. RAND CALIFORNIA-Vernon E. Rand, 46, a former Dexter resident, died Dec. 19 at Lomita Hospital in California, following a short illness. He was born in Dexter, Nov. 26, 1929, the son of Mable Rand Gray of Dexter, and the late Joseph P. Rand. He graduated from Dexter High School. He had been employed by the American Honda Company for a number of years and operated his own import consultant business. Survivors are his mother; his wife, Grace; one son, Robert; and one daughter, Jennifer, all of Garden Grove, California. He is also survived by a brother, Robert, of Englewood, California. A memorial service was held in California.
