EVERETT SANDS ROCHDALE* Mass. A Dexter native and former Maine State Police trooper, Everett Sands, 53, died unexpectedly at his home Jan. 7, while exercising. Sands was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War. At the time of his death, he held the rank of lieutenant colonel of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves. He was also a member of the Fourth Marine Division Assoc. A resident here the past 11 years, he was a talented photograph retouch artist employed by the Worcester, Mass. Evening Gazette (newspaper). Born July 21, 1917, he was the son of Carl and Julia (Clukey) Sands of Dexter, who survive him. Survivors other than his parents include his widow, the former Jacquelyn Knox; a son David M.; and a daughter, Miss Pamela A. all of Rochdayle; two brothers, Ronald of Carmel, Me. and Galen, also of Dexter; three sisters, Mrs. George (Isabelle) Sampson of Newington, Conn., Mrs. Robert (Althea) Thombs, also of Dexter; and Mrs. Wayne (Ruth) Dow of Worcester, Mass. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Jan. 10 at St. Ann's Roman Chatholic Church in Dexter.
