Obituary
Death Claims Beloved Former HS Teacher Mrs. Lois T. Blake, 90, died at a Dexter hospital Dec. 19. She was the widow of Harry Blake, long time Dexter High School principal. One of Dexter's grand old ladies and the word "old" scarcely applies, for she was active and keenly interested in all civic affairs until the very day of her hospitalization. She was born Aug. 23, 1883, in Bremen, Maine, the daughter of Capt. Frank and Bethia (Weston) Thompson. She was a graduate of Westbrook Seminary, Portland. She attended Bates College and taught in Scituate, Somerville, Mass., Brewer and Dexter. She was a member of Alpha Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, the DAR, the Sunshine Club and the Universalist Church, and a library trustee for 20 years, 11 years of which she was secretary; also a member of Woman's Literary Club. She is survived by one son, Kenneth Stanford Blake of Portland; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday at the First Universalist Church in Dexter.
