Obituary	ROLAND R. HURD Roland R. Hurd, 73, of Ycaipa, Calif., and a former Dexter resident, died suddenly last week. Born in Ripley Me., October 30, 1900 he was the son of the late William and Ellie Hurd. He was educated in Ripley and Dexter schools and attended Sweeney Auto School in Kansas City. He was employed by the Ford Garage in Dexter before moving to California many years ago. He was also employed by the American Gear Company of Bangor. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Allen Hurd of Yucaipa; two daughters Mrs. Beulah Gilbert of Pomona, Calif., and Mr. Geraldine Vafiades of North Andover, Mass.; one son, Ralph Hurd of Cucamonga Calif.; tow sisters Mrs. Ruth Hill and Mrs. Lizzie Stewart of Dexter and several grandchildren. Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Bovinia Hills, Calif.
